The Organizing Committee of Nad Al-Sheba Sports Tournament – 2017 convened its third meeting at Dubai Sports Council’s premises to review preparations for the 5th edition of this pioneering Tournament, to be organized during the Holy Month of Ramdan at Nad Al-Sheba Sports Complex.
The Tournament is arranged by DSC under the generous patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai & Chairman of DSC.
The meeting was chaired by H.E. Brigadier Abdulla Khalifa Al-Marri, the Board Member of DSC & Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Tournament, in the presence of H.E. Salah Amin Saleh, the Board Member of DSC, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee & Head of the Technical Committee, besides other Organizing Committee’s Members; these are: Mr. Rashid Amiri, Head of the Media Committee / Dr. Abdul Hamid Al-Attar, Head of the Logistic Support Committee / Mr. Ali Omar Al-Baloushi, Deputy Manager of the Tournament & Rapporteur of the Organizing Committee / Mr. Adel Al-Bannai, Deputy Head of the Technical Committee.
The meeting was also attended by the supporting committees’ members; these are: Mr. Rashid Khalfan, Mr. Khalid Al-Marri, Mr. Hamad Turki, Mr. Tawfiq Al-Zahrouni, Mr. Sami Al-Emam, Mr. Mohammed Kheder, Mr. Robert Wadzarot & Mr. Hussain Fadlulla.
The meeting reviewed the ongoing preparations for the upcoming edition of the Tournament and dealt with reports of the Technical, Logistic & Media Committees.
The Head of the Technical Committee presented a report on the results of meetings, convened between the Committee and representatives of respective sports associations in order to mobilize & qualify technical bodies & referees and to issue regulations for the various competitions of the Tournament.
The meeting dealt with technical regulations of the competitions during both the qualifiers & final stages and ratified & circularized these technical regulations among participating teams.
The Organizing Committee reviewed the latest preparatory works in the indoor pitches, where the various competitions of the Tournament to be hosted. The Committee also focused on the Public & Sponsors Tent, to be established in a distinctive location in the mid of the Sports Complex to provide services for public & to host some of the competitions.
The meeting pointed out some zones, proposed for the running & cycling races, to be contested for the fifth successive year besides football, volleyball, paddle tennis, basketball & wheelchair games. The meeting sought means of adding new distances for the running competition to attract further classes of society.
The Organizing Committee reviewed other events to be contested for the first time during this year as part of the Tournament, taking into account that these events will be announced shortly after completing the technical regulations and approving the schedule of the competitions.
The meeting discussed the promotional campaign & media plan for the Tournament and means of contacting with partners, supporters & public through all media channels, including newspapers, TVs and social media before & during the competitions, to be launched on the 2nd day of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The meeting sought means of exploiting new social media to boost the status of this pioneering Tournament and its eminent social sports role.
The Organizing Committee reviewed the sponsorship packages for the Tournament and sought means of contacting with various corporations which are desirous to be partners in the Tournament.
It is worth-mentioning that all classes of society of multi-nationalities & various ages are looking forward to participate or follow up the various competitions of the Tournament and to gain the valuable awards allocated for both athletes & public.
