Leading publishing group will host social media competition during 35 th edition of SIBF
Kalimat Group, a regional frontrunner in the field of Arabic literature publishing and distribution, will showcase more than 55 new titles for readers of all ages at the 35 th edition of Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), which takes place from November 2-12, at Expo Centre Sharjah.
All imprints and subsidiaries of Kalimat Group will be taking part at SIBF 2016;namely ‘Kalimat,’ an award-winning publisher of Arabic children’s books which organises an array of activities and events for children; ‘Horouf,’ which specialises in creating contemporary smart and innovative educational tools for children in Arabic; ‘Rewayat,’ which creates novels and chapter books targeting adults and young adults; ‘Maktaba,’ a literary and cultural café that offers a unique environment to enrich the passion of reading and ‘Kalimat Quarto,’ the latest imprint of KG in partnership with Quarto publishing – a leading global illustrated book publisher and distribution group.
Throughout SIBF, Kalimat Group will organise a series of cultural programmes, workshops and educational competitions. The organisation’s pavilion at the fair will feature a series of workshops, drawing, painting and handicrafts, as well as reading sessions that give visitors the opportunity to listen to recitals and have their favourite books signed by their authors.
Kalimat Group will also launch a competition through its social media pages (@KalimatGrp) in conjunction with SIBF, with the contest featuring a number of questions on literature and culture. The winners will be announced on the last day of the book fair, November 12.

‘Kalimat’ s newly published titles aim to enrich children’s knowledge, give them a better understanding of life, learn consideration for others and strengthen their ties with their families and communities. ‘Kalimat’ publications are characterised by a simple yet engaging literary style designed to stimulate their curiosity while at the same time put a smile on their faces.
This year, ‘Rewayat’ will showcase a series of publications that target young people and adults and address their interest in many cultural and social subject matters. A number of authors of these publications will participate in book signing events; including Badriya Al Bishr, Fatima Sharaf Eddine, Dania Fahd, Mohammed Weld Salem, and Asma Qadri. ‘Horouf’ will showcase a collection of new non-fiction children’s books, while ‘Kalimat Quarto’ will highlight a collection of cooking books in what is a new publishing category for the group.
