2016 edition launched under the slogan ‘Many Flavours, One Festival’
Heart of Sharjah – one of Shurooq’s largest tourist and heritage projects – and Al Montazah Amusement and Water Park will play host to the 10th edition of Sharjah Food Festival, which takes place from March 31 to April 9, 2016. Organised by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), this year’s popular culinary event has spread its activities over four locations in the emirate, with Al Qasba and Al Majaz Waterfront also sharing its staging.
Hearts of Sharjah’s activities in Sharjah Food Festival 2016 include a programme of cooking and food-related entertainment activities to suit all ages. A ‘Dish of the Day’ will be prepared every day from 6:00pm to 6:30pm, while novice chefs will have the chance to impress in the ‘Amateurs Cooking Competition’ which follows and runs each day from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. The ‘Family Cooking Competition’ enables relatives to work together to create winning dishes, with the contest taking place from 8:00pm to 9:30pm throughout the 10 days of the festival.
Aside from the numerous cookery activities on offer, children will be well catered for at Heart of Sharjah during the festival, with an array of exciting activities geared especially to them. Youngsters will have the chance to meet and have their photos taken with Sesame Street characters and Muppets, with Norman meeting children from March 31 to April 3, Cookie Monster selling his famous cookies from April 4-7 and Elmo concluding the show on April 8-9.

They have been selected as ideal venues to host and enrich the festival because each one is home to many world-class restaurants, cafes and entertainment options.”
Al Qaseer added that the various features of the Sharjah Food Festival, in conjunction with its hosting at four leading destinations in the emirate, reflects Shurooq’s commitment to offering residents and visitors an unforgettable experience.
