DCL launches smart building material testing service

The Dubai Central Laboratory (DCL) at Dubai Municipality has launched some latest smart services for testing building materials. The move is aimed at achieving DCL’s strategic objectives and to become a reference laboratory at the international level.

Eng. Ali Ahmed Alyan, Head of Building Materials Laboratory Section at DCL said the smart services for testing building materials will make it easier for the customers of the construction sector from the contracting companies and consultancy offices to submit test requests and get the results of tests of construction materials in a way better than before.

“Every day the laboratory gets more than 500 applications for testing building materials and about 100 results are issued a day. It is expected that these services contribute to the acceleration of the construction process of buildings and road projects that are of public interest. These smart services will provide an opportunity for manufacturers and dealers of building materials ease of testing materials and products that they deal with, most importantly the green building materials and get reports and results of the tests with ease,” said Alyan.

A number of customers have expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Municipality for providing the construction materials testing service and getting reports and results of the tests as a smart service. They said it provides them with many positive features and the most important of is that it informs them of the different stages of testing of their materials and products with full transparency and clarity of the process.
