Dubai Municipality’s Children’s City is all set to receive visitors to the grand lucky draw ceremony of its reading contest, “We read for e better future,” which is scheduled to take place on the 28 th of this month. The reading contest is the first interactive experience for the children of the targeted age group of 8 to 15 years of age.
Children's City is offering exciting valuable prizes for the top three winners. The winner is offered a trip to Disneyland, USA and the second place holder a day’s stay in the Atlantis Hotel, Dubai and the third place winner will be offered a family ticket to the Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi.
The Children's City’s contest was held keeping pace with the initiative, “What did you read,” launched by Dubai Municipality, which aims to encourage its employees to read. The Children's City organized the contest highlighting the importance of establishing a culture of reading and education among the children. It also comes within the framework of the UAE national initiative,
“2016 Year of Reading,” launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan,representing a new step in the march of the UAE towards consolidating the culture of science,knowledge and inculcating the knowledge of the world's cultures in the hearts of citizens and residents.
In the Children’s City’s reading contest, the participating child has to read a book and then make a 60 second video of it showing the name of the book and also submit a brief about the book he or she read. This video should be uploaded in the social networking channels. The short-listed videos will be uploaded on the social networking sites of the Children's City, carrying the contest Hash tag that will enable the child to participate in the grand draw of the competition.
